History of Gmail
Gmail.com is the email service that is produced by one of the biggest internet search engines in the world. It is powered by Google. The history of Gmail began with the free email services on April 1st, 2004. It offers free advertising supported webmail mail services for its email clients. Over the years Google and the Gmail product have become integrated with many other products. These products include things such as Google Buzz, Google Drive, Google Calendar, Google+, which is Google’s form of social media and even YouTube.
Of course the technology today leads a lot of people to do a lot of their work and check a lot of emails through there smart phone. Gmail is mobile friendly and is accessible through any smart phone. There is also a Gmail app in which you can download through your app store for easier access to your emails. You will receive instant notifications on your phone as soon as you receive an email through the Gmail app. With the many other email servers out there it’s no wonder Google decided to join the game, especially in a time when E-mail was taking off and becoming very popular. Gmail was actually a project created by Paul Buchheit who is said to have explored the idea of Gmail even before the launch of the Hotmail email server. This was in the early 1990’s buy Buchheit actually began working on the project in August of 2001.
Creating a gmail account is pretty simple. It’s as easy and going to Google.com, clicking the Gmail link. After that if gives you the option to sign in or sign up. Upon clicking sign up you choose your user name and password. It will ask you for some additional information then you’re all set. It as easy as that. Of course most are all very familiar with Google but the popularity of Gmail is increasing on a day to day basis. More and more people are choosing Gmail for their email needs every day. Gmail is ranked #2 in the world and continually growing.
